Electric Future for Next-Gen Dodge Charger & Challenger

Dodge Unveils A New Future for EVs

The Future is Coming to Muscle Cars

Recently Dodge unveiled the Charger Daytona SRT, an electric performance coupe meant to take over the  Charger and Challenger legacy.

Faster than a Hellcat

This new EV will have an 800-volt electrical architecture called Banshee. There aren't to many specs available at the moment but I am sure we will hear more as the release date gets closer.

Is this the end for Dodge V-8 engines?

The last gear for V-8 Chargers and Challengers will be 2023. Dodge is planning on releasing a series of "Last Call" models with gas-powered engines, but will be transitioning to ONLY electric vehicles starting in 2024.

Dodge Chargers and Challengers, two of the most popular American muscle cars, will soon look and sound very different. Due to the new EV future, Dodge has decided to discontinue the gas-powered versions of these 2 muscle cars.

Dodge was expected to enter the electric car market, but not in this manner, especially with electric trucks dominating the industry. With the Ford F-150 Lighting, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Tesla Cyber Truck, and Rivian R1T (some already on the market today), we were all expecting an Electric Ram 1500. An electric muscle car from Dodge and with the legacy of the Charger and Challenger, Dodge is definitely going to impress and disappoint a few people with this move.

This is an ambitious project for Dodge, but whether the Electric Daytona SRT can live up to all the hype it claims to fulfill remains to be seen. We won't know whether electric cars can also be muscle cars until we see the final production version of the car in 2024. We are definitely hopeful for this concept and the future of electric cars. We will keep you updated with new developments in the car industry.
