We'll start with the top 5 auto connectors
The top 5 automotive connectors largely remain the same from year's past, except for one: B85C3

#1: fog lamp, headlight
Z27C2 (aka Y27C2) | 2-pin connector
This wire harness connector is known as "z27c2" or formerly known as "y27c2" and has been a top-selling and one of the most common automotive connectors for years.
It's easily damaged during an automotive collision whenever there is a front impact. One of the reasons for this is because of the location. This connector, commonly used for fog lamp and headlight fitments, sits exposed directly behind each lamp, behind the bumper.
The most common manufacturers this OEM connector is used for is:
- Acura, Honda
- Toyota, Lexus
- Subaru
- Mazda
#2: Fog Lamp, Headlight
L42B2 | 2-pin connector
Call them what you will; auto connectors, wiring harness connectors, plugs, pigtails, etc. but these specific automotive parts do have a lot of names or "aka" titles.
For some reason, this pigtail is commonly referred or requested to us as a "wiring harness kit" for a Nissan/Infiniti, Buick or Dodge.
Common manufacturers include:
- Dodge
- Infiniti, Nissan
- Chevy
- Chrysler
- Alfa Romeo
- Buick
- Jeep
#3: Fog Lamp
L43A2 | 2-pin connector
This wire harness connector is another fog lamp fitment (see the trend?). One key mention is that there are two options for this pigtail when it comes to Hyundai and Kia models, specifically for Genesis, Veloster, Cadenza, Forte and Spectra models.
Most common manufacturers include:
- Hyundai
- Kia
#4: Blind Spot, Front Radar/Sonar Sensor, Pedal Position Sensor
R62C8 | 8-pin connector
Quick fact: You can determine how many terminals or pins each pigtail has by our part number. For example, this connector is R62C8. The last digit in this part number is "8" so it has 8 terminals/pins.
So how many pins or terminals would part B41B6 have?
Yes, it would be a 6-pin connector.
But back to R62C8...
This is most commonly used as a blind spot connector but as you can see above in the title, it can also be used for radar sensor and pedal position sensor.
Not long ago blind spot sensor connectors were rarely seen. That's because this type of technology is fairly newer and more vehicles are now including blind spot sensors on their vehicles.
Common manufacturers include:
- Buick
- Chevy
- Cadillac
- Nissan, Infiniti
- Dodge
- GM electrical connectors
#5: Front turn signal, Headlight, Headlamp

Rounding out the top 5 automotive plugs, pigtails and connectors for 2020 is this 3 pin connector, B85C3.
It is most commonly used for front turn signal, headlight high beam, headlight low beam and main headlamp fitments.
Most common manufacturers include:
- Chevy
- Ford connectors: Expedition, F350, F250, F150, Focus, Mustang, Crown Victoria
- Mercury
- Lincoln
