The all new Ford Maverick comes with not just one but two e-DIY 12-volt power sources in the truck bed, both are good for 20 amps. Each consists of a two-pin pigtail connector and are conveniently hidden behind a blanking plate on both sides of the truck bed. The pigtail can quickly be unplugged from this plate, and hooked up to a supplied connector instead. This is where the DIY part of the process comes in, as you have to solder up any 12-volt accessory you like to this pigtail connector without having to cut into parts of the truck's original harness. If necessary extra OEM Ford e-DIY pigtail connectors are available for purchase from dealerships.

This unique system has the benefit that the locking pigtail connector makes far better contact than any other DIY solution like simply adding cigarette lighter sockets to the truck bed. It's defiantly a more permanent and suitable installations, and the best part is that the wiring for any accessories can be neatly tucked away inside the body blanking plate on either side of the bed.
